Commissioned to design an addition to the school, accommodating a home economics teaching laboratory, classrooms, bathrooms and associated outdoor learning areas and landscaping, this was one of RBA's first major projects.
In 1988, Roger was commissioned to design a substantial addition to Clonard College’s year 12 precinct.
The addition accommodated a new home economics teaching laboratory including 15 student cooking stations and a teacher's station, a dining room, 2 new classrooms, a toilet and change room facilities and associated outdoor learning areas and landscaping.
The extension was constructed of face brickwork and rendered with polychrome brickwork and a decorative galvanized iron cloister referencing the Italianate and Ecclesiastical style of the adjacent heritage buildings.
The works included the design of the internal joinery and fitout to suit the needs of both the regular and cooking classrooms. Amongst other elements, this included the detailed the design of the custom storage shelves in the kitchen and exterior bench seating.
