Heritage Permit Conditions may specify that a suitably qualified and experienced Heritage Architect or Consultant be engaged to advise and assist in their fulfilment.

Permit conditions that may require a heritage architect or consultant commonly include building condition assessments (including paint scrape analysis), conservation works documentation and administration, through to the preparation of interpretation materials or an archival record.
