Royal Terrace, a landmark site, is one of Melbourne’s most significant early residential buildings and attests to the growing wealth of the settlement soon after the onset of the gold rush.

RBA prepared a Conservation Management Plan for the site which identified considerable deterioration of the stonework.

We were then able to provide heritage advice and develop a program of conservation of works for the stonework, primarily sandstone, facilitating a successful funding application for repairs to the Heritage Council and the Melbourne Heritage Restoration Fund.
