RBA prepared a Conservation Management Plan for the school, providing broad guidance on future conservation works and its general evolution and were reengaged to provide Heritage Design Advice in regard to proposed new works.
Advice was provided to BH Architects and the Department of Education to ensure that the the significance of the two main heritage buildings on the site were not negatively affected by the proposed additions.
An innovative solution was developed for the prominent bluestone (basalt) building on the site. A courtyard was created to the rear of the building, through which views of key parts of the original building were framed, thus respecting its presentation to the public realm.
